Christmas tree adventures in AZ….

Late the other night we ventured out to find a Christmas tree. After perusing several tree lots we settled on what looked to be a promising selection at Mother Nature's Farm in Gilbert. We pulled into their parking lot and promptly found ourselves mired in approximately a foot of gooey mud. After spinning the tires and gunning it to no avail, we traipsed across the mud pit to ask the farm if they had anything we could put under the truck tires for traction. A bale of hay later (and some serious mud slinging at poor Nathan who was pushing the truck), I managed to jump the vehicle up and over the sidewalk to freedom. Of course after the whole unfortunate hullabaloo we had to buy a tree from our new found friends.

The truck was nightmare…even the late night car wash didn’t make a dent in the muddy mess. We hosed the truck (and ourselves) down in the driveway at home. At least we avoided having to call Triple A to pull us out of the Gilbert mud pit. How embarrassing. Alas, the unforeseen hazards of Christmas tree hunting city slicker style! On the bright side, our tree is quite possibly the most beautiful one yet!
